# The horror powerhouses of Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster have now completed their merger

Thank you to Jamie Levine from Latham & Watkins LLP for representing Blumhouse in its acquisition of Atomic Monster (responsible for the *Conjuring* franchise, *Malignant*, *M3GAN*, and many more).

> Under the deal, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will work as separate labels and retain creative independence, with a three-way ownership structure split by Blum, the majority owner; Wan; and Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal.

> Wan and Blum have said the partnership will encourage greater collaboration between the two, and could mark an uptick in output, as well.

Previously, Blumhouse had a first-look deal with Universal, which extended to Atomic Monster. Atomic Monster had a first-look with Warner Bros for about a decade.

Both parties' movies have brought in more than $8.5 billion in box office sales since between 2004 and November 2022 when the advanced merger talks were first announced.
